
2018 BMW X3 Arrives in Australia at $68,900
After announced in Europe and in the United States, the all-new 2018 BMW X3 has finally reached the Land Down Under, with prices to start at $68,900.
There are three versions available in Australia, with prices already announced – X3 xDrive20d ($68,900), X3 xDrive30i ($75,900) and the top of the line X3 xDrive30d ($83,900).
At the exterior, the model keeps the company`s new design language also underpinning the new X1 and X5, adding as well some new elements created by Australian Calvin Luk. Other new features also refer to 19-inch alloy wheels and high-performance eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive.
The interior retains the same details as the European sibling, meaning new 10.2-inch touchscreen media interface with gesture control, adding as well 12.3-inch digital instruments cluster, wide head-up display, and high-end materials all around the cabin. The space is also set at 550L and can be expanded to an overall of 1,600L with the rear seats folded down.
In Australia, the 2018 BMW X3 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel with 140 kW and 400 Nm of torque, in the xDrive20d, coming with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds. The fuel consumption is also set at an average of 5.7L/100 km.
Next in kin, the 2018 BMW X3 xDrive30i is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo petrol burner, developing 185 kW and 350 Nm of torque, and reaching 100 km/h in a good 6.3 seconds. The top of the line xDrive30d features the same engine, but develops 195 kW and 620 Nm of torque. That means just 5.8 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, and an average fuel-consumption of 6.0L/100 km.
