
BMW Announces New Tehnologies for European Models
2018 will be an extremely important year for BMW, the German car manufacturer announcing some important changes that would cut emissions off and significantly improve performance. The news are addressed to all European models.
Please find below the most significant changes and the models that will benefit from!
Selective Catalytic Reduction system and AdBlue Injection technology – available on all diesel variants of the 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-Series.
SCR system and new exhaust system for reduced emissions – available across the X1 range.
Particulate filter – on gasoline variants, starting with the 220i Coupe last year and continuing this year with other models like the X1, X3, 4-Series Coupe and i8 models.
Eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system – equipped on the new xDrive25d from the X3 range. That will allow an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 6.8 seconds. The Steptronic gear will also be equipped on the new 320d xDrive Sedan/Touring, 320d xDrive Gran Turismo, 420i xDrive Coupe or the 420d xDrive Gran Coupe.
M Sport Differential – will provide the X3 M40i “even more dynamic acceleration out of the bends.”
Park Distance Control and LED fog lights – comprising the 5-Series Sedan and Touring. Both will also get standard 40/20/40 split folding rear seats.
ConnectedDrive services – with lock/unlock function directly from the driver`s smartphone – available on all models.
