
BMW Confirms Arrival of All-New G01 X3 M40i in the US This Autumn
BMW is making the final preparations before unveiling the all-new G01 X3 M40i in June, with the carmaker confirming the arrival of the model on the US soil starting this October.
We are looking here at the third-generation BMW X3, a completely new SAV standing on a new platform and coming with increase space inside and plenty of performance under the hood.
Previous reports and spy photos have confirmed that the G01 BMW X3 M40i will be standing on the carmaker`s new rear-wheel drive flexible modular architecture, meaning more lightweight materials around the body style.
With around 100 kg lighter, more interior space inside and redesigned seating, the all-new X3 M40i will provide increase comfort for all passengers, the driver included. It will also bring aboard the latest technology, also seen on other high-end and new models.
Under the skin, the new BMW X3 will feature a new range of engines, which will be more fuel-efficient and high-performance. We are looking here at a new B48 2.0-liter turbo-four, closely followed by a higher B58 3.0-liter turbo inline six pot.
In the X3 M40i, the power output will be around 400 horsepower, which will be sent to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The G01 X3 M40i will also come with an xDrive all-wheel system as standard. Stay tuned for more details about the all-new SAV!
Besides the X3 M40i, the range will also comprise a plug-in hybrid version, consisting of a 2.0-liter petrol hooked to an electric motor and delivering a total of 340 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. As expected, an X3 M version, with around 422 horsepower, will also arrive later on.
