
BMW Introduced the G30 530e iPerformance Plug-in Hybrid
BMW revealed the all-new and long-expected 2017 G30 5-Series about five days ago, with the model reaching dealerships in February and March, respectively, next year, the entire lineup coming with exceptional and top styling features, the latest technology inside the cabin, as well as a plethora of high-performance engine under the hood.
Each version from the 5-Series is special, as it comes with particular features that sets it aside. And so it happens with the G30 53-e iPerformance, a plug-in hybrid designed for low fuel consumption and increase mile range.
Design wise, the BMW 530e iPerformance demonstrates that it can be a sporty yet a truly luxurious version, best fitted for real businessmen. And the aggressive character and imposing stance say it all, the car standing out from the crowd with unique kidney grille slats in “i” blue accent, along with the blue wheel hub covers, or the “i” logo on the front side wall. The doorsill finishers or the Hofmeister kink are also treated with the eDrive badges.
Inside, the cabin features the standard yet the latest technology implemented on the entire lineup, but adds My BMW Remote App with iOS and Android connectivity, with all the information you need to know about your 550e iPerformance, including battery charge level, range mile status, available charging stations on the road and so on. Otherwise, the interior also feels luxurious thanks to the plethora of high-end materials.
As the name suggests, the car`s main attribute and standout qualities are found under the hood, the model packing a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol working in relation with an electric motor, exceprional qualities that makes it a genuine iPerformance variant. The overall power stands at 250 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque, available between 1,450 – 4,000 rpm, and allowing a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a good 6.2 seconds. The top speed is set at 250 km/h.
The plug-in hybrid`s main highlight is the 45 km range, at a top speed of 140 km/h, as well as the low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, making it thus the most fuel-efficient 5-Series ever produced. We are looking here at just 2.0L per each 100 km, burning out just 46 grams of CO2 emissions.
As for the high-voltage 9.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, the system can be charged using a standard household power socket, or using a public charging station with special cable and accessoriesfor BMW plug-in hybrids alone.
The G30 BMW 530e iPerformance will be launched in Europe next March, with prices to be officially confirmed prior to its arrival in dealerships.
