MINI John Cooper Works Is the “Sportiest Car in 2016”

It has been a while since we last heard about the gorgeous MINI John Cooper Works, but thanks to the German magazine Sport Auto, we have the opportunity of praising the exceptional qualities that the JCW comes with, especially since it has gained the magazine readers` confidence, naming it the sportiest car in 2016.

We are looking here at the best car in its category, the MINI JCW standing out from the crowd with advanced aerodynamics and driving capabilities as well as impressive performance figures. Not to mention the good fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.

Sport Auto magazine is well-known for putting together the finest “small cars” in “the sportiest cars” event every year, and letting its readers choose from 235 models, in 25 categories. And it seems that this year, history repeated itself, as the MINI John Cooper Works was declared the number one small car, with an extremely athletic styling and worthy performance.

The car was thus voted the most appreciated in the “small car” category, with 28.2 percent of the votes; amongst the car`s main highlight that led to its victory, is the good combined fuel consumption – just 6.3L/100 km and the low CO2 emissions – 147 g/km. Even so, the car proves agility, dynamic driving and exceptional performance figures.

Speaking about performance, the MINI John Cooper Works uses a 2.0-liter flat-four engine coming with the MINI TwinPower Turbo technology, developing an extraordinary 231 horsepower, allowing a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, with the standard six-speed gearbox. However, with the optional six-speed Steptronic transmission, the same sprint is done in less – just 6.1 seconds.

Besides the extraordinary driving characteristics, the all-new MINI John Cooper Works also looks refreshed with the Aerodynamics Kit, as well as the fine interior features, highlighted by the updated cockpit with the latest technology borrowed from BMW`s latest models.

The carmaker is also offering a three-door version, now coming with versatile sporty features, along with the new MINI John Cooper Works Convertible and the highly appreciated top of the line John Cooper Works Clubman, which was really appreciated at the Mondial de l`Automobile 2016, in Paris.
