Not only the latest launched exotic supercars are involved in different crashes all over the world, as BMW i8 enthusiasts are also pushing the limits off this wonderful piece of German engineering.
It is also the case of this BMW i8 which was involved in a car crash in Thailand, the BMW`s first plug-in hybrid ending up in a flood, after a severe collision with what it seems to be a Nissan Sentra, whose driver didn’t break on time and ended up colliding the rear end of the BMW i8. So, this time, it seemed that the BMW i8 was not to blame for the accident.
We have no idea how bad was the BMW i8 damaged or if the driver was hurt or not, but it would be difficult to evaluate the damages to the car, considering the fact that the plug-in hybrid is priced from $140,000.
As a reminder, the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid was unveiled last year and is coming with impressive and revolutionary hybrid powertrain under the hood. Thus, the model comes equipped with the I3 1.5-liter turbo unit, which develops 228 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, backed by a hybrid synchronous motor, outputting an additional 131 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The overall power stands at an impressive 357 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque.
