2016 BMW X1 Is Finally Here
The 2016 BMW X1 has been long rumored, rendered or caught on spy shots, but now the expected SUV has been revealed in its true splendor, the carmaker releasing the official images with the model. And I have to admit that it looks gorgeous.
Along with the pictures, the 2016 BMW X1 is also detailed, the SUV first coming with some interesting trims, like the Sport Line, the xLine or the one-off M Sport package, which adds up additional features at the body or inside.
Design
The 2016 BMW X1 is coming with an impressive body design, translated through the sportier components like the front bumper, the LED infused headlights over the prominent grille, the sloping roof, tailgate mounted spoiler or the plastic body cladding. Overall, the body style looks a little bit like other SUVs from the BMW`s lineup.
Interior
Inside, the 2016 BMW X1 is also fully tweaked with a lot of high-end materials coming as standard, air conditioning, high-gloss black accents, or the Oxide Silver trim. In case you want more, you can also get additional features for the right price, of course.
Thus, you get to enjoy the 6.5-inch display iDrive infotainment system, Dakota leather seats, the Oak Grain wood trim and a few more. The safety features also include the Driving Assistant Plus package fitted with the Active Cruise Control, Stop and Go, Traffic Jam Assistant, Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and much more.
Powertrain
Under the hood, the 2016 BMW X1 is also coming with an interesting engine lineup, meaning two petrol engines, such as the 2.0-liter with power between 192 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, respectively 231 horsepower and higher 350 Nm of torque. On the diesel part, the 2016 BMW X1 will receive the same 2.0-liter, equipped with different power: 150 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque, 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, as well as 231 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque.
The engines will be hooked to the standard six-speed manual as well as the new eight-speed automatic transmission, sending the power to the front or all wheels, depending on the version. The pricing details will be announced later on, in October when the model will be launched in Europe.
