BMW i8S Arrives in 2016
How better way to celebrate 100 years of existence in 2016 then preparing the second generation of the BMWi8, which will be named the i8 S. For the moment the model was codenamed the M100.
There are no official announcements concerning the launch of the BMW i8S aka the M100, but some recent reports have revealed that the German carmaker is ready to launch the second-generation i8S, that will carry on the legacy of the present plug-in hybrid.

But the upocming BMW i8S is announced to be more revolutionary than the present i8, meaning that it will receive a carbon fiber upper structure, overhauled suspension, aluminum chassis, beefier brakes, wider tires and no rear seats for larger trunk.

The same reports also state that the BMW i8S will come with a 2,0-liter twin turbo four-cylinder unit, developing 320 horsepower. The future i8S might also receive a 3.0-liter straight-six and 480 horsepower, which would sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, becoming faster than the i8 with 0.9 seconds.
