AC Schnitzer puts the BMW X3 in the Spotlight with new Tuning Program
The German specialists from AC Schnitzer revealed a new tuning program for the second generation BMW X3, internally known as F25. From the beginning we have to tell you that the German specialists prepared a complete tuning package for the compact crossover. The performance tweaks include some basic modifications for the X3 xDrive20d version which comes with a 2.0-liter unit offering 184 horsepower. After mounting a new exhaust system and revising the ECU unit, the German model develops 218 horsepower, an increase of 34 horses over the standard model.
Moreover, AC Schnitzer announced that some power upgrades for the xDrive30d version but also for the 2.8-liter and 3.5-liter six-cylinder petrol units are on their way. For now, we got no details about the improvements mentioned above but undoubtedly we will find them as soon as they become available.
If the performance upgrades will be available only for certain models in the range, the styling package prepared by the German specialists can be ordered for any version of the current BMW X3. AC Schnitzer’s body kit for the German crossover includes side skirts with chrome trim, a roof spoiler, new front skirt and lip spoiler but also a rear apron.
Of course, the German tuning house offers a variety of alloy or forged wheels (BiColor, Type VII, Type VIII or Type VI) with dimensions from 18 to 22 inches fitted with high performance tires. The interior is also subjected to a styling treatment and brings some custom velour floor mats aluminum trim, a new sports steering wheel but also new sports pedals. Pricing is not available yet but we expect to get full details on this alongside availability information within the next few weeks.
“The new BMW X3, which has been available from dealers since autumn 2010, is uniquely versatile. Now BMW tuning specialist AC Schnitzer has developed an extensive range of accessories to make the second generation SUV stand out even more,” said the Germans.
