South Carolina BMW plant will hire 700 workers
BMW reported that will add 700 workers to the South Carolina BMW Plant to create 2 more shifts. This plant is located in Greer, South Carolina, near Spartanburg and Greenville. This South Carolina BMW Plant is building Z3 and Z4 roadsters but also BMW’s SUV.
This is a big oportunity for the people that live near to this plant, but also to the current workers because they will have to work less than before after those 2 new shifts will be added. Unfortunately, BMW can’t add permanent positions. The new workers will be hired through BMW’s contract agencies, MAU Inc. and Tier One Solutions.
According to Bobby Hitt, the new shifts and 700 workers were added to South Carolina BMW Plant as a direct result to the year end market. In September, the BMW sales increased with 3.6 percent so this is probably the main fact that influenced this upgrade.
