The BMW X3 M is popping-up in our news again in new spy shots provided by carscoops via, the model being showcased wearing camouflage.

According to, the BMW X3 M is the hardcore version of the regular X3, the mid-sized SUV coming with some slight changes at the body style, along with a more potent powertrain under the hood.

From a visual standpoint, the 2018 BMW X3 M will come with a more aggressive front fascia with sculpted bumper, wider air curtains, updated LED headlights, flared wheel arches and a few more.

The new BMW X3 M is also rumored to shed some weight, around 100 kilograms, but will also become bigger, in order to distinguish it from the X1. The model will receive an all-wheel drive configuration as well.

Under the hood, the 2018 BMW X3 M is believed to carry over the same powertrain from BMW M3/M4, meaning a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder, with around 500 horsepower. Apart the 3.0-liter displacement, the engine lineup will also include an upgraded 2.0-liter four-cylinder or the 3.0-liter straight petrol burners and diesels.

This will make it perfect to compete against the all-new 2017 Audi RS Q5 or the Mercedes AMG GLC. The details are rather scarce at the moment but we should expect fresh news in the upcoming period.
