2019 BMW X7 Caught on Shots
The planning of a new BMW X7 is not new, the German based carmaker first playing with this dream in 2014 when it announced the arrival of a new X SUV model, way to powerful and more high-tech than the present X5 and X6.
The model was recently caught on shots while performing some road tests wearing full-camouflage and announcing extremely hot styling bits.
As expected, the new X SUV will take its design lines from the X5, but will be extremely big, stretched and extremely aggressive, especially since it will stand on the company`s new CLAR modular platform, also underpinning the new 3-, 5- and 7-Series.
This means that the model will be built from lightweight materials such as carbon fiber-reinforced plastic and aluminum, which allow the fitting of new and more powerful engines under the hood.
Inside, the CLAR platform will also allow additional space to be used for rear passenger legroom, especially since the model is announced to come with a three-seat configuration. As for the high-tech gizmos, the model will borrow the latest technology, like gesture control, semi-autonomous driving system, new infotainment system and much more.
In the engine department, the 2019 BMW X7 SUV will come with a wide array of V8 engines with inline sis-cylinder configurations, adding some V12s and a plug-in hybrid version as well. We should find full details somewhere next year.
Once arriving on the market in 2018, the all-new BMW X7 will become the direct competitor of the new Cadillac Escalade, Land Range Rover LWB, Audi Q7 or Mercedes-Benx GLS. It will also be built at the carmaker`s main plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
