Would You Dig for a Custom-Built Two-Door E30 BMW M3 Wagon?

Some time ago we had the opportunity of reviewing an E30 BMW M3 Sport Evo against a Mercedes-Benz 190 Evolution II, and now we have the chance of finding out more details about the same E30 M3 but with a wagon styling. This particular model has a rich history and was brought to life and custom-built by Griot`s Garage.

This particular model was exclusively built for the 2016 SEMA Show and comes with a lot of aftermarket modifications. It is not easy finding such a rare model and put it back to pieces, at least to look like the original model.

And we are not dealing here with just a few mods here and there, as the technicians from the shop have had to put a lot of effort into it, providing as well the necessary parts from other tuners as well. And the result is really amazing, especially since we are looking at a two-door wagon version.

This amazing wagon comes with bits from different tuners. For instance, J-Rod & Custom have removed the original front and rear doors and replaced them with just a pair of doors which are nine inches longer. After that, they had to paint the body in “Griot`s Red”, with a total of twelve coats to cover the entire painting process.

From a mechanical point of view, this lad here also comes with plenty of new stuff, like bespoke coilovers courtesy of Ground Control, new sway bars, Brembo braking system, as well as a new set of HRE 501M alloy wheels, sized 17×8 and 17×9 front and rear, all-finished in gold.

Under the hood, the model also suffered modifications, now coming with a massive 4.0-liter M60 V8 engine, borrowed from a 1995 BMW 540i, and hooked to a six-speed manual gearbox.
