2017 BMW M5 Spied in Full Camouflage
BMW M`s division is not wasting valuable time and is already planning a hardcore version of the upcoming 5-Series, the latter one debuting at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, in October. It is all about the all-new 2017 BMW M5, recently caught on shots by spy photographers from motor1.com.
The 2017 BMW M5 is playing hard to get at the Nurburgring, while performing some rough tests, all dressed up in camouflage.
As we can depict from the spy photos, the 2017 BMW M5 seems to come with some slight mods at the exterior, previewing smaller headlights, brand-new front and rear bumper bars and lighting clusters, panel contours, or the wide large air vents which would reveal a revamped 4.4-liter M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine.
As expected, the M5 will be using the company`s newest CLAR platform with carbon fiber components, making it more lightweight by up to 100 kg. This would also improve the car`s handling, performance and driving capabilities.
Performance wise, the upgraded 4.4-liter would output somewhere around 626 horsepower, being sent to the rear wheels, with a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h done in 3.7 seconds. The topping would stand at 320 km/h.
Given the CLAR platform, rumors have it that BMW would also introduce an optional xDrive all-wheel drive version, which will make it heavier and thus less powerful. More details with the model will be revealed at a later date.
