The BMW M8 will launch in 2016
Share
It seems that 2016 will be the year when BMW’s M Division will finally get their hands on the yet-to-be-launched BMW i8.
Dubbed the BMW M8, from a previous M1, this new car will be the special gift BMW makes for their 100th anniversary.

Reportedly, the BMW M8 will sport under the hood a 4.4 liter, TwinPower turbo V8 engine with direct injection. It is capable of churning out some 600 Hp and it will be coupled with a dual clutch, eight speed automatic gear box. Estimated time to accelerate up to 100 km/h is 3 seconds an the M8 will probably top at 322 km/h.
Weight will be kept down using light materials like carbon fiber, aluminum, magnesium and titanium. The intended target for the BMW M8 will be 1252 kg. Of course all that expensive metals and the tons of technology fitted to the car will bring up the value quite a bit. Just how much will it cost? About a quarter of a million Euros, that’s how much.

Is it worth it? Who knows. For now we don’t even know that much about the i8 it will be based on, let alone the actual BMW M8 that will come 3 years from now.
