The Bavarians officially confirmed the BMW X1 for Canada
If you live between U.S. borders and the new BMW X1 is on your wishlist then you’d better skip this article. Leaving the joke aside, the Germans from BMW officially confirmed that X1 E84 will debut this year in Canada while there are no details about the U.S. debut of the smallest X model in range.

The BMW X1 is built in Germany at Leipzig alongside models such as the 1 Series, actually, the two models are sharing the same assembly line.

If Canada gets the new BMW X1 this year, there are not any certain details about the U.S. debut of the Bavarian compact SUV. According to some sources, the Leipzig plant can’t handle the big demand and this is the main reason of this delay.

For the beginning, the Canadian customers can opt just for the xDrive28i version which packs a four-cylinder unit developing 241 horsepower and 349 Nm of torque. The starting price for this version is $38,500 but of course this can change as you opt for different trim levels.

I like it. Nice car, and well priced! Other premium car brands are preparing similar cars (Mercedes BLK, Porsche Cajun) and some already have it (Audi Q5, Range Rover Evoque) but this is good compromise between quality and price. I think this will be a bestseller in next few years in its class.
