2017 MINI Countryman Has Arrived in Big Style
It is bigger, wider and extremely agile, it is the newly unveiled 2017 MINI Countryman, the high-end model from the British carmaker that everybody has been expecting for the last couple of years. And in terms of specifications and plethora of driving capabilities and dynamics, the new Countryman is for the moment the most complete model from the auto maker.
As we can depict from the media gallery below, the 2017 MINI Countryman is now looking more handsome, with the new muscular and well-proportioned design, bigger front fascia and headlights, still wearing the carmaker`s overall signature.
The new Countryman is bigger, way to bigger than the previous model, now standing on the BMW`s new UKL architecture and measuring 7.8 inches longer and 1 inch wider. The wheelbase has also received an extra of 2.9 inches. The new chassis automatically makes the interior quite roomy, allowing as well an increased cargo capacity, and enough space for the rear seats to fold down with a 40:20:40 split.
Stepping inside, the cabin welcomes you with a more modern feel, thanks to the newly added high-end materials, along with ambient lighting, new armrest, dash trim and the latest technology available for driver and all passengers.
The car`s main highlights remain under the hood, the 2017 MINI Countryman coming with two engines, such as the 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, with 134 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque in the Cooper Countryman, while the MINI Cooper S Countryman packs a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, developing 189 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. Both mills feature a six-speed manual as standard, but can also be had with an automatic transmission as optional.
Besides the two versions, MINI is also offering the 2017 Countryman S E plug-in hybrid version, with the 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder receiving an electric motor, with an overall output of 221 horsepower.
