Upcoming 2017 BMW M5 Will Be Extremely Powerful
The new addition to BMW`s M lineup, the upcoming M5 has been long spied, rumored and reported to come with sheer performance and the latest mechanics. Recent spy shots reveal the test mule in less camouflage than a couple of months ago.
Every new BMW model represents a step forward towards evolutionary aerodynamics and advanced mechanics, each eventually ending up more powerful and extremely appealing. Not to forget the company`s main aim of developing at least one plug-in hybrid version for each M model within the lineup.
And the future BMW M5 is going to be bigger, more aggressive and much faster, all thanks to the company`s latest innovations. Speaking about innovations and power, Auto Express has interviewed chief and expert Frank van Meel, the latter one revealing some of the car`s insights.
“Blame the never-ending power war within the segment but in order for the new M5 to get more than 600 horsepower safely on the road, an all-wheel drive system was deemed necessary.”
That`s right, you heard the professional: one of the car`s main highlights would be the sheer power and high-performance all-wheel drive system, all part of a complex makeover process. But these are not the M5`s new attributes, the model also getting “agility, precision and dynamics”, as van Meel further states, all of them making the model “designed for the track.”
Even if the new BMW M5 will come with an all-wheel drive setup, that doesn’t necessary mean that it will make reference to an xDrive M5 version, as the carmaker has “to be sensitive about equity built up with rear-wheel drive”.
We will sure hear about the upcoming BMW M5 in 2017 when it is believed to be officially unveiled as the direct rival of the future Mercedes-AMG E63, this particular model also coming with an AWD system.
