2016 Paris Motor Show: 2016 BMW X2 Concept Breaks Cover
BMW is currently working on a new X model lineup, its future products becoming much bigger, tweaked with futuristic and more aggressive styling and featuring the latest generation power configurations under the hood.
And for the German-based carmaker the 2016 Paris Motor Show was the perfect occasion to launch the all-new 2016 BMW X2 Concept, which will spawn a new X2 model, much larger and more evolutionary.
As we can depict from the impressive photo gallery, the 2016 BMW X2 Concept is really imposing; it features a spectacular look and an upgraded personality, and that thanks to the new architecture. It is actually the sibling X1 but with a new and much more improved look.
The car`s main attribute is indeed the design, Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior VP at BMW, describing it as “a vehicle for active people looking for a combination of enjoyment and practicality”.
The 2016 BMW X2 Concept stands straight with the company`s new signature on the flanked kidney grille with angular laser headlamps with a futuristic design, adding the wide side air intakes which make the front bumper more aggressive.
Other highlights refer to the raked windscreen, lower roofline and rear end with more angular tailgate, brand-new taillights, standout spoiler or double exhaust pipes. Let`s not forget the plastic cladding surrounding the entire body nor the massive 21-inch alloy wheels which provide the model with a more aggressive look.
The 2016 BMW X2 Concept is here to spawn the future X2, probably arriving in late 2017 or beginning of 2018, underpinning the same platform as the baby X1 and coming with a wide range of petrol burners and diesels, with four- and six-cylinder configurations, and a choice of front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.
