Video: BMW i8 Futurismo Edition by Garage Italia Customs

BMW is celebrating 50 years of existence in Italy and decided to mark the event by launching a new and exquisite i8 plug-in hybrid model.

In order to achieve such an extraordinary project, the German based carmaker has partnered Garage Italia Customs shop, which is known in Italy mainly as the promoter of the Fiat 500 model. Over the years, the GIC has turned the 500 into exquisite models with exquisite livers.

Thus, Lapo Elkann, founder and president of Garage Italia Customs have designed the BMW i8 Futurismo Edition, which was recently presented to Adrian van Hooydonk during a recent event at BMW`s headquarters in Munich.

As we can depict from the pictures, the BMW i8 Futurismo Edition is wearing a lively body color called “Lampada ad Arco”, which is nothing else than Giacomo Balla`s “Lampada ad Arco” painting displayed at the Museum of Modern Art, in New York.

The theme chosen for this standout BMW i8 expresses the beginning of electricity in the early 1900s, and symbolizes the future of electrified models from BMW.

Besides the livery and the alloy wheels, this BMW i8 has also received some nice touches inside the cabin. GIC has added the special upholstery courtesy to Solaro, with iridescent reflections when being hit by light.
