BMW M550d Touring by G-Power
It is not every day you see a Touring version receiving some power upgrades, but the G-Power tuning division has already transformed this BMW M550d Touring into a real beast. Otherwise, the body has not suffer any serious modifications, except for the new front and rear spoilers and a set of new wheels.
The power boost is not necessarily given by any upgrades carried out at the engine, as G-Power has fitted the D-Tronik 5 V1 module, which provides the needed power increase only when the cooling water temperature meets the right conditions and helps oil keep its normal limits.
Along with that, G-Power has also updated the standard 3.0-liter TriTurbo engine, which now develops a great 435 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque, quite impressive from the stock 381 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque. This would allow the BMW 550d sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, being thus 0.2 faster than the present stock model.
But the real performance of this modified BMW 550d is noticeable on the roads, where the D-Tronik 5 module controls the acceleration and adjusts the level of boost, according to the traffic conditions. And this is very helpful, especially when you want to reach the top speed of 270 km/h.
