2016 BMW X1 prototype spotted during tests
The all-new BMW X1 is heavily tested these months as its debut date gets closer and closer. The small German crossover has been spotted on some winter roads, most likely in Sweden.
The new BMW X1 will be based on the well-known UKL platform, therefore, we can imagine the engine range that the new model will carry.

Expect a base 1.5-liter petrol unit with 136 horses and 220 Nm of torque as well as a more powerful 2.0-liter engine producing 184 hp and 270 Nm of torque as well as 231 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

On the diesel side, there should be a 2.0-liter unit with 150 horses and 330 Nm of torque as well as a range-topping 184 hp variant. In terms of styling, the new model will be a tad bigger and more aggressive.

A new front grille is expected to be found while revised bumpers and a tailgate-mounted spoiler will also make it stand out.
