2015 BMW 2-Series Convertible Heads to Production Line, Performance Detailed
Even if the BMW 1-Series Convertible is long gone, its official replacement, the newly unveiled 2015 BMW 2-Series Convertible is now heading to the production line.
The 2015 BMW 2-Series Convertible will keep all the variants from the 1-Series Convertible, meaning that the 220d, the 220i, 228i, 228 xDrive as well as the M235i version have already headed to the Leipzig factory, all of them being launched on the market somewhere next year.

Now, let`s talk about the engine choices these versions will be coming with, and you can rest assure that all are full of surprises.

First, we should mention that the BMW 228i Convertible will be packed with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit, outputting 240 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, when hooked to the 8-speed automatic transmission.

On the other hand, the 228 xDrive will be able to run the whole 100 km mileage in 5.6 seconds, when fitted with the optional all-wheel drive, for the same engine.

The top of the line 2015 BMW M235i Convertible is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline six, delivering a higher 320 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque, through the conventional six-speed manual transmission.

When hooked to the 8-speed automatic, the M235i Convertible will run the 0 to 100 km/h straight track in 4.8 seconds, at an electronically limited speed of 250 km/h.
