
2014 BMW 2 Series Coupe officially revealed
After several spy shots, leaked images and rumored specifications, the all-new BMW 2 Series Coupe finally breaks cover. The new model is designed to replace the current BMW 1 Series Coupe, one of its advantages being the increased dimensions.
To be more specific, the new BMW 2 Series Coupe is 72mm longer, 32mm wider and comes with a luggage space of 390 liters. At the exterior, buyers will benefit from revised bumpers, a new front grille, air intakes and improved optical blocks.

Power is offered by a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine producing 184 horsepower and 270Nm of torque for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7 seconds. A diesel 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit delivers 143 horsepower and 320Nm of torque for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 8,9 seconds.

More power is offered by a similar 2.0-liter diesel with 184 horses and 380Nm of torque. Even if outputs the same amount of power compared to the petrol unit, the 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 7,2 seconds. The diesel range is completed by a 218-horsepower 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo while the range-topping model is the BMW M235i.

The latter makes use of a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 326 horsepower and 450Nm of torque. With such resources and linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission, it sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in 4,8 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h.

The new BMW 2 Series will go on sale in March with prices starting at $33,025 in the States.
