
All-new BMW i3 gets detailed in official press release
BMW offers today official details on the new i3 electric model, information regarding the powertrain and other unique features of the new model.
Of course, we’ve heard several facts and figures on the i3 in the past months and even years but today we get that exact numbers we were waiting for.

Thus, power is provided by a 170hp electric motor with provides a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7,2 seconds with a top speed of 150 km/h. The 250Nm of torque also helps the German model while a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a minimum driving range of 130 kilometers.

If that’s not enough for you, BMW offers a range-extending engine capable to double the driving range. The new BMW i3 weighs 1,195 kilograms for a 50:50 weight distribution while the battery takes around six hours for a complete charge.

If you are in a hurry, a public fast-charging station is capable to charge the battery pack to 80% in just half an hour. Pricing and availability details on the new BMW i3 will be released on July 29, when the model will be shown in the production version.
