F06 BMW M6 Gran Coupe test drive preview

Road and Track has recently taken the new BMW M6 Gran Coupe out for a test drive and were kind enough to release some initial figures before the official review.

The numbers mostly have to do with speed and acceleration, and they are quite impressive.

The version they used sports a manual transmission, and while the average driver will take approximately half a second to shift a gear, a premium automatic gear box will do that much faster. But even with the manual, the two ton car managed to accelerate to 92 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

After the acceleration test, the guys from Road and Track also did a quarter mile drag race. The BMW M6 Gran Coupe managed it in 12.1 seconds and at the finish line it clocked in 180 km/h. This comes from a car that wasn’t designed to take down track records, but rather to get you and your family from one place to another in full comfort and luxury.
