2012 BMW 1 Series (F20) spied in Northern Europe

Somewhere in some frozen lands, the Germans from BMW are testing the future 1 Series generation, tests which seem to be pretty advanced as they are forcing the model’s abilities in difficult road conditions. The new BMW 1 Series F20 is expected to debut somewhere next year or late 2011 at a major auto show.

The German five-door hatch gets rid of some camouflage especially in the upper part and give us a sneak peek regarding the design way which will be followed. The headlights seem to be more aggressive but the camouflage layer can give us a wrong idea on this.

However, in the rear we notice the LED lights while under the bonnet we expect to find a four-cyinder engine together with a six-cylinder turbocharged unit as the top of the range. In these tests the German engineers opted to fit the prototype with snow chains in order to create the best testing conditions.
