2016 BMW M2 Coupe by Laptime-Performance Reminds Us of the 2002 02 Series Turbo
We are used to seeing the M2 Coupe wearing standout body styling kits from different tuning companies worldwide, but there were few cases where the model was dressed up with aero kits paying tribute to long-gone yet iconic models.
It is also the case of this particular 2016 BMW M2 Coupe, recently the creation of the technicians from Laptime-Performance tuner, who fitted the model with the 02 Series Turbo, paying thus their respect to the 2002 Turbo edition.
As we can depict from the media gallery below, the Laptime-Performance have wrapped this M2 Coupe with the iconic M stripes, adding as well the “Turbo” badge on both sides, which perfectly replicates the original 2002 Turbo.
Besides the M stripes and the special badges, the aftermarket specialists have also added some racing body elements, such as the new GTS-like lip up front, CSL trunk lid, Akrapovic exhaust system as well as a bespoke carbon fiber bonnet with air vents to increase the car`s aerodynamics at high speeds.
The entire new kit is complemented with the 19-inch HRE R101 alloy wheels, finished in brushed gold which increase the car`s stance and aggressive look. Also, the presence of the aforementioned Akrapovic exhaust system and the new KW Clubsport 3-way adjustable kit – which lowers the car`s ride height – indicate a power boost under the hood.
And indeed, according to the tuner, this M2 Coupe has been also fitted with the Mcchip-DKR power kit, which raises the car`s power to an impressive 415 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. No news concerning performance figure, but we think that this is not that important in our equation.
