2016 BMW M2 Coupe Sold Out in Australia
The 2016 BMW M2 Coupe was officially unveiled at the 2016 NAIAS, and the model is already creating quite a stir amongst fans all over the world.
As a reminder, the German automaker will keep the M2 Coupe`s flame on the market for just five years, with around 5,500 units to be sold each year, but the model was so appreciated from the beginning that the hunt is still on.
According to Motor Report, in Australia the M2 Coupe is almost sold out, even if sales start in April. BMW Australia Managing Director, Marc Werner, also confirmed the news.
“We’re very excited to be able to offer this kind of performance car at such a sharp price point, which is a really compelling offer. We have significant pre-orders. We can’t talk absolute numbers here, but for the first year we will be almost completely sold out. The moment when we published the initial artwork of the M2, the response from potential customers was overwhelming. Luckily we were able to secure some substantial volume for this year and also for the coming years.”
The 2016 BMW M2 Coupe is available for sale from $89,900, the model coming with a 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine, with 370 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, hooked to a seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission. This allows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, at a topping of 250 km/h.
