BMW X7 SUV Planned, Might Be Based on the Vision Future Luxury Concept
BMW has been very successful with the recently unveiled 2016 BMW 7-Series at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, but its supremacy on the luxury SUV segment is still far away from becoming a reality, as other carmakers have already taken the steps on that matter. And if BMW wants to keep up with the recently and most technologically advanced Bentayga SUV from Bentley, it better come up with something even bigger.
But BMW fans are keeping the common sense and positive thinking, as the German based carmaker would eventually come up with something even more impressive, just as it did with the 7-Series. And rumors state that it might be the long-expected BMW X7 that everybody has been talking about for the last couple of months, heading towards production somewhere in 2018, yet leaving the Bentley Bentayga with practically no competitors for the moment.
It is supposed to be the biggest SUV ever built, standing on the same HPLC platform, the same shared with the 7-Series and which would eventually replace the 35up architecture for good.
Most importantly, the upcoming BMW X7 is also said to take its visual inspiration from the one-off BMW Vision Luxury Concept, unveiled at the Concorso d`Eleganza Villa d`Este, last year. This means that the upcoming X7 will also pack the latest technological advancements available on the market today.
Under the hood, we might also expect to see a 6.0-liter V12 engine, equipping the top of the line version, along with a wide array of six- and eight-cylinder engines. So far, the details are rather limited, but we should expect fresh news on the new BMW X7 SUV by the end of this year!
