All-new Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo comes at Frankfurt
The German specialists from Alpina revealed the new B6 Bi-Turbo Cabrio, a model based on the new generation of BMW 6 Series Convertible. The tuning company is specialized in modifying BMW models, their own version of the new 6 Series being an expectable move.

Under the bonnet, the Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo packs a tuned twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter engine able to develop 507 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. The V8 unit is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission which Switch Tronic which transfers the power to the rear axle. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is possible in 4,8 seconds while the top speed is around 310 km/h.

Therefore, the revised model is able to develop extra 100 horses and 100 Nm of torque. These improvements let the German model to sprint from standstill to 100 km/h about 0,2 second faster.

Even the German tuners added 100 horsepower to the stock engine, the fuel figures are almost the same. To be more precise, the standard 6 Series has an average fuel consumption of 10,7 liters/100 km while the B6 Bi-Turbo returns an average of 10,9 liters/100 km. More details to be revealed later this month at the German motor show.
