BMW reveals the updates for 2012MY X5
BMW decided to release details on the new model year X5, a model which won’t receive significant improvements, only few additions such as new exterior finishes and extra equipment. To begin with, BMW will offer a new Citrine Black Metallic finish, new trim and the M leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles for the X5 Sport Package. The 2012 BMW X5 will receive the Exclusive Edition as well, the special models coming with unique features such as 20-inch alloy wheels, front door sill engraved with the logo and the Platinum Bronze Metallic paint.

Besides the minor styling improvements, the Bavarians plan to fit the X5 xDrive30d with the BluePerformance technology able to significantly reduce the CO2 emissions, making the model eligible to the Euro 6 standards.

The new technology developed by the Germans uses diesel particulate filter along with a NOx absorber and Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC).

With this been said, the 2012 BMW X5 xDrive30d will return a fuel consumption of 7,5 liters/100 km (31,4mpg US) while the CO2 emissions will be now at 198 g/km. The 2012MY X6 received some updates too, but we will talk more on that soon.
