
Current 5 Series generation among the 2011 World Car of the Year finalists
This year’s edition of the World Car of the Year competition is close to its final and this means that one model from a well-known manufacturer we’ll get the coveted award.

BMW is present in this competition with a very prestigious model, namely the current 5 Series generation which tries to get the big prize in the main category, World Car of the Year, battling with other fantastic and innovative models like Audi A8 and Nissan Leaf.

In order to assure that the competition is fair enough, the 66 jurors that will decide the winners on April 21 at the New York Auto Show, divided this competition in four categories. The first category is the main one, the one we talked about above.

Up next, models such Aston Martin Rapide, Alfa Romeo Giulietta and also Ferrari 458 Italia are competing in the World Car Design of the Year.

There’s also a category designed for the sporty models, called World Performance Car of the Year but also a prize for the World Green Car of the Year will go for BMW’s 320d EfficientDynamics Edition, Chevrolet Volt or Nissan’s Leaf.
