BMW and Brilliance Auto to develop together the 5 Series F10 EV for China

Considering the tremendous increase of 87% saw last year by the German manufacturer on the Chinese market comparing to 2009, BMW decided to give more and more attention to this market and to manufacture an electric version of the current BMW 5 Series F10.

At this moment, BMW is building the standard 5 Series F10 together with the increased wheelbase version but also the 3 Series E90 at the Shenyang plant in China and the new 5 Series EV is ready to join the production line. The new electric model specially designed for the Chinese market will be sold together with the Brilliance Automotive Co, the official partner of the Germans from BMW.

Thus, the range of the Germans on the Chinese market will be extended soon with a new powertrain option, the zero-emission one forunately, while a concept which will foreshadow the new electric German model is expected to be revealed at the Beijing Auto Show.
