Spy Photos: BMW’s 1 Series F20 Hatchback during tests

The hatchback version of the long-awaited BMW 1 Series was caught on streets during tests. The next-generation 1 Series is scheduled to debut in 2011 and promises new features such as new engines, but we will talk later about the new engines rumored for the 2011 BMW 1 Series but also we will find more news on the date and location where the little BMW model will debut in its automotive adventure.
The 1 Series hatchback is codenamed F20 and will feature a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with a capacity of 1.3 liters and 2 and 3 liters engines with six cylinders. Considering the ecological trend in the automotive market, there is a chance that BMW to adopt the hybrid technology for the next-generation 1 Series.
BMW will offer both manual and automatic transmissions, a six-speed manual transmission is expected along with a dual-clutch automatic one. The EfficientDynamics system is expected to be part of the new 1 Series range expected for 2011, including the well-known start-stop system.
