BMW`s most astonishing model 8-Series, yet to be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next March, has been tipped off for production in 2018, with the model to be built at the company`s facility in Dongolfing, Germany.

According to a recent report issued by Auto News, the new BMW 8-Series will arrive next year with the company`s new design language and brand-new, high-tech interior, also to be implemented on other new models.

We are looking here at the direct competitor of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and Cabrio, an exclusive car with the most advanced technologies and an evolutionary design.

Speaking of new design language, the future 8-Series will come with “a new look”, with new elements borrowed from the 8-Series concept revealed at the Concorso d`Eleganza Villa d`Este some time ago.

According to Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW`s Senior Vice President of Design, these new design elements refer to the concept`s grille and Hofmeister kink, adding as well trapezoidal exhaust tips which will enhance the car`s aggressive look.

The company`s new design philosophy will not be limited to the exterior, van Hooydonk also stating that the interior will come with the latest iDrive infotainment system, improved dashboard and high-end materials on the seats, dash, and other interior surfaces.

Performance wise, the all-new 8-Series Coupe and Cabrio will come with a wide range of engines under the hood, like a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder mill, or a 6.6-liter V12 from BMW`s new M760Li xDrive. Additionally, BMW is also likely to offer M8`s 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, with no less than 600 horsepower.

As aforementioned, the all-new BMW 8-Series Coupe will be released on the European and US markets next year, with the Cabriolet variant to arrive in 2019, according to the same report from Auto News. As for both models` success, they will definitely become a benchmark in terms of technology and evolutionary design language.

Previously decided as a China-only affair, the upcoming 2017 BMW 1-Series Sedan might as well find its way on the South American market, if the carmaker decides that it is good for the business.

The rumor mill comes from NoticiasAutomotivas via the QuatroRodas and states that BMW representatives are currently looking for solutions to build the model in Brazil. If this happens, it will surely happen at the carmaker`s plant in Santa Catarina.

Once it will receive the green light for Brazil, the upcoming BMW 1-Series Sedan will stand on the company`s new UKL platform, the same one that the Chinese version will be also underpinning. It will also arrive as the main competitor of the new Audi A3 Sedan or Mercedes-Benz CLA. More details will be known in the near future.

As a reminder, the China-based 2017 1-Series Sedan will officially arrive at the 2016 Guangzhou Motor Show and will be longer than its European sibling. The company`s UKL architecture, fitted with a front- and all-wheel drive layout, is the same architecture also found on the BMW X1, 2-Series Gran Tourer or MINI models.

In China, the 2017 BMW 1-Series Sedan will feature a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline three-cylinder engine in the 118i, with 136 horsepower, while the 120i would receive a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline flat-four, with 192 horsepower. Finally, the 125i would also get the same 2.0-liter but with a power output of 231 horsepower.

Once announced for the market, the 2017 1-Series Sedan will be built with Brilliance Auto, which is the German carmaker`s joint venture in Shenyang, China.

Brazil is one BMW`s largest production line in the world, with six high-end models to be produced locally, at Araquari plant, in Santa Catarina. Thus, every year, thousands of models are distributed throughout the entire North and South America.

The BMW X4 is one those models manufactured in Santa Catarina, being part of the company`s $288 million investment plan.

BMW is building the X4 xDrive28i X Line, the version being priced at $93,850 and is equipped with the latest technology inside, while under the hood, it comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four petrol engine, with 245 horsepower.

Carsten Stocker, local executive at BMW, stated that “The arrival of the bMW X4 to the Araquari production line is the result of our commitment to global quality standards of the BMW Group and are fully in line with the group`s factories in the United States, Egypt, Russia, Thailand and Malaysia, countries where the SAV is also produced.”

The carmaker`s decision of building the BMW X4 xDrive28i X Line in Brazil would be very beneficial for the entire area, since the new assembly line has made room for more than 1.5 million square meters and a capacity of assembling up to 32,000 cars each year. Let`s not forget that the carmaker is also expecting to sell around 45 vehicles each month in order to achieve an annual increase of more than 50 percent.

The BMW German based carmaker has been secretly working on the upcoming BMW X2 crossover for a few years and just a minute ago representatives have given the green light, the model emerging on the market in mid-2107.

When it will arrive, the 2016 BMW X2 will sit between the new X1 and the present X3, underpinning the same platform with the X1, and will be recognizable thanks to the sloping roof line, more prominent taillgate and the five-door body style. Overall, the 2016 BMW X2 will look sporty and rather chic.

Inside, the 2016 BMW X2 will also borrow some design elements also seen on the newly arrived BMW X1, with the same technology to be incorporated. Under the hood, the upcoming X2 will come with a wide array of engines.

On the performance department, we should be dealing first with the three-cylinder units, added in the first twelve months, followed by a range of four-cylinder engines, also seen on the X1 and X2. A high performance version will be also released in the shape of the 2016 BMW X2 M Performance, which will fit the new B48 engine, with power sitting at around 300 horsepower. All engines will be hooked to a six-speed manual or optional eight-speed automatic transmission, which will send the power to the front or the all four wheels.

We have recently presented the impressive powertrain of the 2016 G11/G12 BMW 7-Series and now it is the time to unveil some insights with the production process of the high-end model.

The 2016 G11/G12 BMW 7-Series flagship will be built at the same BMW Group`s Plant Dingolfing, Germany, the same one where the model has been heavily produced since 1977, when the first 7-Series went out the production line.

This means that the plant is the perfect solution for manufacturing the new 7-Series, as it has also provided with high-end materials like CFRP for other carmakers within the BMW Group, like Rolls-Royce. Intuitively, this leads to the idea that the new limousine is also making use of the carbon fiber composites, which is part of the BMW`s EfficientLightweight programme.

But the production of the 2016 BMW 7-Series is a complex process, which combines the CFRP (carbon-fiber reinforced plastic) with other lightweight materials like aluminum or ultra-high strength steel for the body structure.

And the entire structure is not compactly built from the aforementioned lightweight materials, meaning that some parts of the body will be partially built, like the roof frame, which is “being built for the first time as a core-free, closed structural element”.

Along with the CFRP engineers from BMW have also come up with conjunctional materials to strengthen the car`s structure, like the use of “the ultra-high-tensile and hot-stamped steels”. Together they improve the stiffness of the body and reduce its weight, leading thus to improve performance.

BMW has already met fame with the present generation X1 and the 2016 F48 BMW X1 model will carry on the legacy of one of the most wanted model in the segment worldwide.

Compared to the present generation, the 2016 F48 BMW X1 is promising to bring a new identity to the car, both visually and also in terms of performance, while inside, a whole new range of safety gizmos and high-tech features will lead the way to a better and safer driving.

First off, the 2016 F48 BMW X1 SUV will borrow some design cues from the 2-Series Active Tourer, translated through a more rounded nose, a more sculpted hood and more aggressive front fascia. As expected, the company will also fitted the model with a plug-in hybrid, which might develop around 190 horsepower.

Recent reports from Reuters state that the BMW German based manufacturer is going to build the X7 crossover at the Spartanburg, in South Carolina.

The automaker will expand its plant, with costs to exceed several hundred millions. Thus, the BMW`s crossover lineup will be completed, with the X7 standing alongside X3, X5 and X6.

The Spartanburg was opened in the US in 1994, with the plant currently having more than 7,000 employees.

Norbert Reithofer, CEO at BMW states that the US market will remain the most potential market for the German automaker.

“This is why we are evaluating the possibility of increasing capacity in the U.S.,” Norbert continues during the BMW`s annual press conference in Munich.

The two German based luxury automakers, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are both planning to expand their portfolio of crossover luxury vehicles.

Thus, each of them will have been built around 7 vehicles by 2020, with a lot of entries concerning different sizes and prices.

More than that, Audi is also joining the battle with six new crossovers to put in line for the same period.

With its V8 engine of 4.0 liters, carrying up to 400 Nm of torque and 420 HP, BMW M3 Coupe was, without a doubt, a popular line in the history of Bavarian Motors. After all, they did manage to produce 40.000 units…

But since all good things must come to an end, the German car maker announced that the last BMW M3 Coupe went out of the production line, never to come back!

While its series fellow, BMW M3 Convertible, will continue to be produced until September this year, all their forces will then be directed towards the next series and generations…

The switch from BMW M3 Coupe will be made with a focusing on a new generation of Coupes, allegedly called M4. This is how a beautiful history dating back since 1986 ends…

As opposed to BMW M3 Coupe units’ configuration, the future is focused on twin turbo engines with 6 cylinders and a 3.0 liters capacity, carrying 550 Nm of torque and 450 HP. A top speed of 250 kmh electronically limited and a capacity to reach 100 kmh of 4.2 seconds!

The Bavarians don’t really have that much of a display at the ongoing Sao Paulo Motor Show so they’re constantly distracting the folks with news about their new plant.

It isn’t as exciting as a set of new M Division, or at least, M Performance products, but the new factory means a lot for both BMW and the Brazilian government.

BMW will be producing cars at a smaller cost, breaching into a new market in Latin America and the Brazillians get new jobs, an economy boost and generally take a step forward.

While all of this seems Utopian, BMW are well aware that this is in fact a business and they have a pretty serious plan for production laid out for the upcoming factory.

The Brazilian Government just received an investment plan for the German company which calls for an investment of around 260 million USD by 2014.

This plan is currently pending approval so the factory isn’t certain yet but in reality the entire thing is just a mere formality. No government could pass up such an opportunity.

Aside from the cash flow coming in, there’s a total of 1.000 jobs openings coming in for the factory itself and quite a bit more for the suppliers.

All of these will hopefully work together to produce some 30.000 new BMW vehicles per year when everything is set and done.

To be fair, there’s plenty of other locations where new factories could pop up but BMW is going a different way as they still claim that production should follow demand.

BMW’s superstar comeback is still mostly a mystery, we don’t even know the final shape of the car yet but, like any Scooby Doo show, things are beginning to unravel.

As we found out earlier last month, the BMW M1 will be ready to hit the market by 2016 and it will set its scopes on the Audi R8 and Mercedes SLS.

Just like its predecessor, the BMW M1 will not stray from the idea of two seats, an engine in the middle and a whole lot of power.

Performance levels is where things enter a new league. The 2016 BMW M1 will produce some 600-650 horsepower courtesy of a 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine.

More importantly, thanks to lightweight and exotic materials, the new M1 should end up weighing no more than 2755 pounds.

To put it into perspective, it’s about 130 lbs lighter than the original M1 and several hundred pounds lighter than the most stripped down R8.

There’s bound to be some technology borrowed from the i range cars but as no mention of batteries or electric motors has been made we suspect that the lightweight tech is what’s going to matter here.

Pricing estimates of a quarter million are still in place except more and more publications seem to vary the currency. Between euros, dollars or GBP, things could get a little hairy.

Even so, by most accounts, the BMW M1 should deliver similar performance levels to what the Lamborghini Aventador offers yet it should be quite a bit cheaper.

Not a bad recipe.
