The Upcoming 2021 BMW iX3 Facelift
It is unusual for a facelift to come one year after the release of the previous model, but it seems BMW has something else in mind. The 2021 BMW iX3 is receiving a fresh look with a redesigned front and back-end. The German marque is making this adjustment to mark the fourth anniversary of its iX3 SUV series, and by the looks of it the changes will be minor.
The camouflaged vehicle was spied during testing in Sweden. The new iX3 may follow in the footsteps of the X3 M that was revealed a couple of years ago. The X3 production model had the same sparkling headlights when it was in testing as the iX3 has now in its prototype.
The front bumper also apparently has a new stylized air vent that is similar to what we are accustomed to with the M series vehicles. It is highly possible that the 2021 iX3 comes with the M-badge, improving its performance and looks multiple-fold. It is also possible that there is an xDrive variant as the current version of the iX3 only has RWD. The xDrive is BMW’s in-house 4-wheel-drive system that is available on most of their high-end vehicles.
We would have to wait and see if the facelifted iX3 gets xDrive or not. But we are sure that the same engine from last year that produces 282 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque will carry on to the 2021 model. The drivetrain allows the iX3 to accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in just 6.8 seconds. The engine is helped by the 74 kWh battery, which adds 260 miles of range to the SUV. It is hard to say if the new version will get a larger battery or if BMW will stick with the same one as last year.
The 2021 BMW iX3 will be seen on the roads sometime later this year with a price range almost similar to last year’s model.
