2017 MINI Clubman JCW Breaks Cover ahead Paris Show
Even if the British carmaker decided to axe the production of the present MINI Paceman lineup due to the poor sales and announced some important changes in the model range, the Clubman still gets exclusivity from the company and is ready to be officially unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
However, MINI couldn’t wait until next week and has already revealed the top of the line Clubman John Cooper Works, the model coming now with an all-wheel-drive configuration and a hefty dosage of power.
From a visual standpoint, the all-new MINI JCW will look mostly like the present model, adding however some custom aero bits, along with new exhaust tips finished in chrome, sport suspension and one-off 18-inch alloy wheels.
The cabin is also updated, the interior now coming with leather steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, Dinamica/Carbon Black leather upholstery with red accents, and leather on the seats up front.
The car`s main highlight remains under the hood, the 2017 MINI Clubman JCW coming with a 2.0-liter turbo engine, with an upgraded configuration of 228 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, which is way significant than the Clubman S ALL4`s 189 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque.
The new Clubman will come with a standard all-wheel drive on the JCW, with customers also opting for a standard six-speed manual or an optional eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The entire powertrain allows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.0 seconds, at a topping of 236 km/h. The performance is also achieved thanks to the manual gearbox, which makes the car weigh just 1,564 kilos.
