US: 2016 BMW M2 Coupe Price Set at $51,700
The 2016 NAIAS was a good opportunity for BMW to present the all-new BMW M2 Coupe, the model being showcased and detailed in different presentations and interviews. BMW has also confirmed that the M2 Coupe will have a MSRP price of $51,700 in the United States, without the $995 destination and handling fee.
We also expect the launch of the car`s online configurator after the show is over, with characteristics and features to choose from, starting with the four colors available on the market – Long Beach Blue, Black Sapphire metallic, Mineral Grey metallic and Alpine White – and continuing with different options at the exterior and inside.
Surely, the interior features are rather limited, all 2,200 units that will be built each year for the next five years, coming with standard black leather with blue contrast stitching, carbon fiber and Alcantara trims and a few more with that. But who knows? Perhaps BMW will introduce more cabin tweaks.
Under the hood, the M2 Coupe packs a fresh 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine, churning out an impressive 370 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque, but that can be increased to 500 Nm in short burst under overboost.
The engine is hooked to an M Double Clutch Transmission, which allows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, at a topping of 250 km/h.
