BMW M2 Convertible Rendered Online, Might Be Released in 2017

Read Time:1 Minute, 4 Second

The 2016 BMW M2 Coupe was recently unveiled and the model has already been previewed in the first renderings, signed by the famous artist Theophilus Chin.

The renderings are showcasing the M2 wearing a convertible body and are based on the latest rumors according to which the German manufacturer would release such a model somewhere in 2017. We might be also dealing here with a less powerful version.

We have learnt from other BMW convertible models that they come with less power, due to the additional reinforcements added to the chassis. The same would also happen to the upcoming BMW M2 Convertible, as we might expect a 0.3 seconds between the two of them. In terms of prices, the convertible would be also more expensive than the M2 coupe.

The recently unveiled 2016 BMW M2 Coupe is powered by the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder wngine, with impressive 370 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque.

The engine uses a standard six-speed manual, allowing a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The optional seven-speed M Double Clutch transmission with Drivelogic helps the M2 reach 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. The topping also stands at 250 km.
