2015 Frankfurt Motor Show:BMW X5 xDrive40e Goes Official
The long-expected xDrive40e version of the X5 has finally made its way at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the SUV plug-in hybrid coming with impressive figures in terms of performance and fuel consumption as well.
This would be the perfect SUV model from the X5 lineup which will engage in the battle against other models from Audi, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Range Rover or Lexus.
On that matter, the guys from CarScoops magazine have provided us with a full comparison list for the aforementioned models:
BMW X5 xDrive40e – 313 PS, 0-100 km/h in 6.8 sec, 3.3 liters/100 km avg
Audi Q7 e-tron 3.0 TDI – 374 PS, 0-100 km/h in 6.0 sec, 1.7liters/100 km avg
Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine – 408 PS, 0-100 km/h in 5.6 sec, 2.1 liters/100 km avg
Mercedes-Benz GLE 500 e – 442 PS, 0-100 km/h in 5.3 sec, 3.3 liters/100 km avg
Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid – 416 PS, 0-100 km/h in 5.9 sec, 3.4 liters/100 km avg
Range Rover Sport SDV6 Hybrid – 340 PS, 0-100 km/h in 6.7 sec, 6.2 liters/100 km avg
Lexus RX 450 h – 300 PS, 0-100 km/h in 7.4 sec, 8.1 liters/100 km avg
As we can see, the most fuel efficient model comes from Audi, the Q7 e-tron 3.0 TDI with 1.7 liters/100 km avg, closely followed by Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine with 2.1 liters/100 km avg and BMW X5 xDrive40e, with 3.3 liters/100 km avg.
In case we missed it, these are just the figures on papers, some of the models might come on the track with more or less. Either way, the BMW X5 xDrive40e can win this SUV plug-in hybrid segment too. I have to be subjective at this point and say: “Go, Go xDrive40e!”
