Stretched 2016 BMW 3-Series Sedan Caught on Shots
BMW has kept its promise in delivering the 2016 BMW 3-Series with a stretched wheelbase, the model being exclusively built for the Chinese market. The solid proof stands in the spy shots with the 3-Series Sedan Chinese version, the model cruising the streets before being launched on the market, this September.
Even if we are talking about a longer wheelbase 3-Series Sedan, this particular model will keep the same basic features seen on its European model, meaning that the same front and rear updates will be fitted. And as the spy shots suggest, the long-wheelbase 3-Series will come with revised bumpers and some lighting modifications as well.

Inside the cabin, the long-wheelbase 2016 BMW 3-Series Sedan will also benefit the latest updates in technology, like the new infotainment system and other gizmos. And since Chinese love long models, this particular one will be also generous in terms of space inside, thanks to the 4.3-inch stretching.

Under the hood, BMW has not made any modifications, the company still equipping the Chinese 3-Series version with the fresh powertrain, also seen on the European variant. First, the model will come with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder B48 modular engine, the 3.0-liter six-cylinder, as well as new other units, set to fit under the new 330i and 340i, which will soon replace the present 328i and 3335i. A plug-in hybrid is also expected on the Chinese market.

For the moment however, the performance lists is rather scarce, but we should be able to find out more at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show, this autumn.
