BMW 3-Series E46 Recalled for Airbag Issues
The BMW German based automaker has issued a new recall, involving the 3-Series E46 model, that has been reported having some problems with the Takata airbag inflators.
The automaker stated that the recall involves 1.6 million cars worldwide, with their owners to report immediately to their dealership for repairs, which will be free of charge.

In case the owners of the 3-Series 46 will not return to BMW dealerships worldwide, the airbags might cause serious damage to the occupants in case a deployment occurs.
The BMW also states in some official press releases that the possibility of a rupture at the airbag inflator are rare and might be caused due to faulty installation carried out by the suppliers and not by the carmaker`s local manufacturers.
“The replacement campaign is a voluntary precautionary measure that aims at minimizing the risk of faulty airbag activation”, the carmaker also stated.
In case you are a BMW 3-Series E46 driver, then you should know that the models affected by this airbag issue, refer to those particularly manufactured between May 1999 and August 2006.
