Come July, BMW will start taking orders for the i3

It will only be three more months until you can place an order for your very own BMW i3, so sit tight and be patient a little bit longer.

At the end of July, BMW will open the books for its electric city vehicle.

And you will have two models to choose from. The first is powered only by an electric motor and will have a range of up to 160 km. It will also fetch the sum of 53.300 USD. On the other hand, if you opt for the BMW i3 fitted with the range extender, you should be prepared to part with 57.800 USD. The extra money translates into a range of 300 km.

But even 300 km might not be enough for some drivers, as from time to time they might want o head out of the city, far out. To this end, BMW will lend some normal vehicles to i3 owners to take care of business far away. It’s still unclear, but apparently for a number of days each year, these vehicles will be either free to rent or discounted.

After the pre-orders have been placed you will still have to wait until after its official release in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
