Spy Photos: 2013 BMW 3 Series GT (F34) spotted on the road

After a series of renderings and speculations on the new BMW 3 Series GT, codenamed F34, today we get the first touch with the new Bavarian model scheduled to enter the market somewhere in 2013. The prototype caught in testing has its camouflage wear but however we can make an idea in terms of dimensions and shape.

As the model is in its first testing stages, I’m afraid I have to tell you that we have to wait a little more to get certain details on the new 3 Series GT besides what the spy photos tell us.

According to the first details, the prototype in the shots is either the 335i or 335d version benefiting from a six-cylinder unit. The 2.0-liter turbo unit that is found under the bonnet of the X1 xDrive28i is expected to be seen under the bonnet. That engine manages to develop 242 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.

Other new diesel and petrol units will be available under the bonnet of the new 3 Series GT. A hybrid version of the German Gran Turismo might be introduced later.
