Following the official debut of the all-new 2019 BMW X4 at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show, the Bavarian carmakers has also announced the arrival of its hardcore version – the M40i M Performance – tweaked with a much more muscular aero kit, plenty of M goodies inside and impressive performance underneath the skin.

The model will also be previewed at the 2018 New York Auto Show (March 30th – April 9th), and introduced in the United States this summer. Prices will start at $60,450, without the $950 destination and handling fee.

The M Performance package adds a fresh feel and look, both at the exterior as well as inside the cabin, which perhaps makes it one of the finest and most attractive SAC model on the market.

The 2019 BMW X4 M40i M Performance stands out from the crowd with a muscular aero kit, specific to all M models, and which increases the car`s aerodynamics and improves performance characteristics.

There are also the wide tracks, sports suspension system or M brakes, all contributing to improved handling and driving capabilities. The lowered center of gravity also offers an astonishing driving experience and adrenaline rush at high speeds in tight corners.

Inside, the sport yet luxurious feel is provided by the M Performance tweaks. We are dealing here with exclusive leather upholstery with carbon fiber inserts, sports pedals and sports steering wheel, or thre-zone air conditioning which is a premiere for an X model.

As for performance under the hood, the 2019 BMW X4 M40i M features the carmaker`s famous inline six-cylinder engine, good for 355 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. This allows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds.

Following recent spy photos with the new 2019 BMW X4 SUV while undergoing tests near Spartanburg factory, the German based carmaker has already taken the upcoming X4 M out for a spin, putting the final pieces before its official launch at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show (presuming).

Just like the standard X4, the M hardcore variant comes with the same design language, yet adding some M tweaks that makes it more aggressive and standout.

The M signature is present on the much more aggressive bumpers and rear lip spoiler, adding as well wider air inlets for better air flow, quad exhaust tips for a wilder engine soundtrack, and of course, the M wider alloy wheels.

Just like other new SUV models, the future 2019 BMW X4 M also stands on the company`s new CLAR architecture, meaning that it sheds off around 60 kg, thanks to the additional of lightweight materials. This also leads to increase performance and better fuel consumption.

Performance wise, the all-new 2018 BMW X4 M makes use of a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine, also known as S58, and believed to churn out around 450 horsepower. And if BMW doesn’t find a away to increase the SUV`s power and torque, it won`t be a match for its direct competitor, the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, which is definitely way too powerful.

On the other hand, the standard 2019 BMW X4 SUV is powered by a wide range of petrol burners and diesels, including the 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder with 365 PS and 500 Nm of torque, or the 2.0-liter flat-four with 190 PS and 400 Nm of torque. A 3.0-liter six mill with 265 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque will also join the diesel club.

Following a series of spy shots a couple of days ago, the all-new 2019 BMW X4 is back into the spotlights in a new batch of photos released by CarScoops magazine, just outside the company`s plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The new spy photos reveal a completely new X4 crossover, now more massive and more aggressive, thanks to the redesigned body style.

We already know that the carmaker`s new philosophy is building bigger and bigger models, and the 2019 X4 is no exception. It stands on the new CLAR architecture, also underpinning other high-end models like the upcoming X3, which means more lightweight materials that would shed off significant weight – 121 lbs in the case of the X4.

Visually, the model is enhanced with horizontal LED lights, a more aggressive front bumper with wider air intakes which now come with metallic accents. Other features up front also refer to the revised grille and modern headlights.

At the rear, the new X4 features slimmer taillights and sportier roofline. The entire design is complemented by the new wheels, much wider and providing better stance and grip.

Inside, even if there aren`t any spy photos to reveal the details, we should be able to find the same high-tech gizmos also implemented on the new X3 or 5-Series. Future info will be released at a later date.

Under the hood, the 2019 BMW X4 is likely to carry over the same lineup from the X3, including a wide range of petrol burners and diesels. We should mention here the petrol 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder with 260 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, or the 2.0-liter flat-four diesel with 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. According to the carmaker, a top of the line X4 M with 400 horsepower is also set to arrive later on.

BMW is putting its latest models to hard work on the track, and one of them has been recently spotted performing some tests, having its predecessor behind it. And this is the best way to see how much BMW models have evolved from one generation to another.

The prototype in question is no other than the all-new 2018 BMW X4, the M40i to be exact, judging by the more prominent and aggressive front and rear ends. Besides it, stands the previous model, visibly smaller and less appealing.

We have heard before about the future X4, with the M division also coming with improved and more aggressive design lines. Speaking of which, the new M40i will be wider thanks to the longer wheelbase and more prominent lines.

The model is set to arrive with new front fascia with larger grille and headlights, and we can see those new details in the photo comparison with the previous model. The M40i however, will also add much sportier front bumper with blue brake calipers, or bespoke exhaust system.

As expected, the 2018 BMW X4 will stand on the company`s new platform, also underpinning other models within the group. This will allow for a wide choice of engines, including the 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo flat-four engine with 249 horses and 349 Nm of torque. As for the X4 M40i, this one will still carry out the previous 3.0-liter six-flat with 335 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Rumors also have it that the top of the line would receive a new power configuration as well – 400 horsepower – which is quite impressive. Stay tuned!

BMW is on a full throttle, announcing and secretly planning some new models, which will revive some of its model fleet, like the X1. A recent reports does not rule out the idea of launching the X2, which would complete the “X” generation.

The BMW X2 might arrive somewhere in 2017, and even if the BMW German based carmaker has not yet confirmed the rumors, it would resemble the BMW X4 and X6, being basically a larger X1, the model coming with a sloping roofline and a few more tweaks.

The 2017 BMW X2 will underpin the newest UKL platform, also seen on the BMW X1, 2-Series Active Tourer or the MINI model lineup. The X2 will be thus offered with a front-wheel drive layout as standard, while an xDrive configuration would also emerge, for additional costs.

Under the hood, the 2017 BMW X2 might come with some interesting engine choices, starting with the 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, followed by the 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline and diesels. Unfortunately, we do not have the details performance figures, but we should learn more in September, where the model might be unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The high-end BMW X7 was recently launched online in a rendering, announcing the arrival of the model in the United States.

The BMW German based automaker is preparing to line-up its SUV fleet in the US, namely the X1, X3, X4, X5 and X6, already hitting the Spartanburg plant, in South Carolina, with the X7 to complete the list.

Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of the Board of Management at BMW US, also confirmed the entire X fleet, while the X7 will actually stand at the top.

“With the BMW X7, we are developing another, larger X model, which we will produce at our U.S. plant for our world markets – once again underscoring our commitment to the US,” Reithofer also stated at the launch of the X4 model.

Apart from that, we don’t have any details with the upcoming BMW X7 SUV, except for the fact that the model would come under the hood with a high-performance 3.0-liter triple turbo diesel, which would develop 381 horsepower, while wearing the M 50d moniker.

Apart from the triple turbo engine, the BMW X7 will also be powered by the standard 3.0-liter diesel, while the gasoline will sport a 4.4-liter V8.

There is plenty of stuff to write about BMW in general, especially when the German manufacturer is launching or is about to launch new models on the go.

This is also the case of the debated new BMW X4 which has been recently caught in some spy photos, a CUV which began rolling out just a year ago.

As seen in the photos, the car is camouflaged at the rear end which is definitely a clue that this is the new X4. If you take a closer look, it appears that there are the same elements to share with the present X4, like the headlights and the rear roofline.

There are fresh news for the foglights, which have been modified, with updates at the rear of the car as well, since the camouflage may seem to indicate that.

Overall, the camouflaged CUV isn’t a lot different from the production model. As for its size, the car seems to be quite the same with another important flagship like the 3-Series Gran Tourismo, which might come in big style.

The midsize CUV is expected to be unveiled at the New York Auto Show in April and we will get our chances on finding more about the car then.

The BMW is recently planning the coming of a new series of concept cars, just like the Concept X4, which was first shown at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show.

Now, the German luxury car manufacturer is ready to launch a new X4 model; as we can all see in these spy photos, the car seems to prepare itself for its grand debut at the upcoming 2014 Geneva Auto Show.

There are also some videos, showing the X4 model being quite capable when driven fast, navigating its way through the tight turns of the Nurburgring tracks, without making too much fuss about it.

The X4 concept shares the same platform as the X3, the way the huge X6 shares it with the X5, with the production line being handled in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

We are looking at a four door coupe-like, with individual bucket seats inside and a nervous engine, promising to overshadow the X3 with a 2.0-liter four, developing around 240 horsepower, and that for the base X4 xDrive28i.

The more powerful X4 xDrive35i is powered by a 3.0-liter straight-six engine, mastering 300 horsepower. We will know about the car`s release in the US markets in a couple of days.

Though it may seem daunting at first, the idea of a BMW X4 M is pretty easy to follow once you read up a little bit on it.

The Bavarians plan to make one and they have drawn up the basic details of what it can be already and they’re ready to share everything with us.

For starters, the BMW X4 will obviously be a model based on the X3 crossover except it will receive more of a rakish look, similarly to its bigger brother, the X6.

The BMW X4 M will then, naturally, be a high performance version of this car, one that’s had its makeover done by the infamous M Division.

Moving on the M Division it seems like they don’t plan to try to hard. More and more reports speak of the BMW X4 M being little more than a raised BMW M3.

In theory, the idea makes sense, after all the X3 is a crossover that’s closely related to the 3 Series. What is annoying to us is the expectation that all M products go their own way.

I suppose we should have let go of that idea when the X5 M, X6 M, M5, M6 all shared the same engine and twin turbocharger setup.

By that judgment, the BMW X4 M will be packing a force fed straight six cylinder engine under the bonnet. Be it a 3.2, 3.0 liter, twin or triple turbo, that’s essentially what’s to come.

The actually disappointing bit of the announcement is the idea that the BMW X4 M will be yet another one of the M Division products that miss out on the manual gearbox.

Seeing how the BMW X6 has had a tremendous success, the Bavarians are seriously considering the creation of a smaller brother for it.

Since it’s launch back in 2008 the BMW X6 has sold over 80.000 units so it would only make sense to make a smaller, more affordable version of it.

The BMW X6 has been even more controversial then all of the styling decisions made by Chris Bangle a few years ago as almost nobody seemed to understand the concept  behind the car. Nevertheless the sales figure speak for themselves and they make up the best proof behind the demand for sporty off-roaders.

While the X4 hasn’t gotten the green light yet, actually, it doesn’t even have this name yet. What it could be is a car based on the X3 platform, that would draw stylistic inspiration from the X6, obviously, and from the X Coupe Concept presented in 2001.

Since BMW has been responsible for creating niche products such as the 5 Series GranTurismo or the BMW X1 the X4 could well be soon coming to a dealership near you. How soon? Well possibly around the same time the BMW Gran Coupe hits the market in 2012.
