These guys are not messing around. After registering a great year in sales back in 2012 they’re simply looking to improve further in 2013.

After 2012’s 11% increase to a total of 1.85 million cars worldwide, the Bavarians are now targeting an even higher threshold.

This year has the promise of being a new record setter for them, building up on the momentum as well as the new products about to be introduced.

Throughout the group there’s bound to be quite a lot of releases, the F32 4 Series being the headline for me. The i3 eco-mobile is also bound to be coming about later in the year.

I was the one hoping for the new M3 and M4 coming in this year, but greed never really helped people since back in the eighties.

At least we can console ourselves with the fun promised by the new compact coupe in town, the F22 BMW 2 Series and its properly great fun in a petit package.

BMW sales and marketing boss Ian Robertson is also quite excited about the business perspective of the new year as BMW have opened up new plants and plan to ramp up production.

Breaching into new markets, building on a strong portfolio, increasing the marketing efforts is not only how they plan to take sales to a new level but also keep the competition at bay.

Audi and Mercedes are going stronger and stronger so staying one step ahead is probably as big a challenge as setting a new personal best.

Somebody at BMW sales department is well on their way for a major Christmas bonus. After getting word from China about their sales, they’ve now rounded up the totals.

The results are simply put as BMW’s best September sales ever so they have decent reason to be proud of their work last month, don’t they?

This new record stands at 177.716 vehicles sold worldwide, thus an increase of 11.6 percent compared to the same month of 2011.

This month, coupled with plenty of other successes we’ve seen so far have BMW looking at their best first nine months so far.

Hard numbers speak of a considerably chunky 8.3 percent improvement over 2011’s first nine months and, so far, BMW have shifted a total of 1.335.502 units.

This includes the BMW sub-brands but as Mini is still growing and Rolls Royce hardly sell a few cars these days, you know where the bulk of sales exists.

Actual BMW products have come to 146.843 units with Mini managing to sell 30.562 units and, finally, Rolls Royce managed to chip in with 2326 units.

Unsurprisingly these days, the star seller is the X1 mini crossover.

The remaining 10.000 units sold come from BMW’s motorcycle divisions. The BMW two-wheel products are actually down by 1.1% but Husqvarna ones are up by 21 percent.

Or at least those are the stats for the nine month situation because September itself is pretty much the other way round with +7% and -7.1% respectively.

At the end of the day, these are mere details. The important part is that BMW sales are doing great, putting the company in great shape for the future.

It’s not just BMW cars that are worthy of titles and smashing cars. It’s also the places that are dedicated to them that achieve them.

BMW Welt for example, just reached an enormous milestone in terms of visitors to ever go through its gates.

The magic number BMW Welt just hit is 10.000.000 visitors. The Bavarian company actually prepared a bit of a surprise for the lucky 10 millionth visitor.

The visitor in question was called Patrick Zanker and he got the really special treatment. To begin with, he was greeted by some really famous folks.

Could you imagine going to BMW Welt and being greeted by Thomas Muderlak, head of the BMW Welt and BMW brand ambassador, His Royal Highness the Prince of Bavaria?

That’s certainly a treat for the BMW fan, but not as big a treat as getting the keys to a brand spanking new BMW Z4 for ten weeks.

There’s no misprint, BMW actually gave the 10 millionth visitor to their “world” an awesome roadster for two and a half months.

I don’t know what the prices for a ticket to BMW Welt are but it’s certainly going to cover getting a free dream car from the Bavarians.

So far, the BMW Welt has been the location of choice for some 76.000 real fans to pick up their cars from and it’s even had some unusual events.

For instance, some real fans of the BMW roundel have even gotten married at the place. All of this stuff and the new milestone made Thomas Muderlak very happy.

How many times have we been over this? BMW is a Bavarian company, that means it’s located in Europe, particularly in Germany.

While the country’s economy seems to be going fine and dandy, the rest of the continent has less rosy bank statements.

That’s had an effect on the kind of sales just about every car maker in the world has had in Europe. BMW was no exception to this situation.

Happily though, the company’s sales in Asia and the United States more than made up for the drop on the old continent.

Therefore, the BMW Group delivered 156.957 vehicles in May. That means they’ve registered a year-on-year increase of 6.4 percent last month.

Adding those numbers in means that over the first five months of 2012 BMW, Mini and Rolls Royce delivered a total of 728.029 automobiles.

The overall bump is 9.1 percent, if that isn’t impressive enough, how does a bump of 60.000 units sound?

Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management, Sales and Marketing BMW went on to state what we know for being the obvious.

This was a record for BMW’s history in May and that the company is looking forward to a similar situation this month.

The highlights of the BMW product lineup in June are going to be the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe and the revised F01 BMW 7 Series luxury sedan.

Since we spoke of the Asian influence in these results, that’s where BMW’s Group sold 41.289 units in May. The US was accounted with buying some 35.127 vehicles as well.

It’s another success story from the BMW Group’s sales department. April’s first week with us has been rather uneventful but it did bring along a new batch of results.

The 2012 Q1 results of the BMW Group once again have the word “record” attached to the title since it’s the best first quarter the Bavarians got so far.

As usual, the Mini and Rolls Royce brands had their say in the affair but we all know what the biggest slice of the pie is, our beloved BMW roundel.

In short, total sales over the first three months of 2012 saw the BMW Group shift more than 400.000 units. That amounts to a bump of 10% over last year’s previous record.

The considerable growth was achieved mostly thanks to two markets of tradition for BMW. China and the US market both had a respectable bump.

The American market was up 16.6% reaching 75.729 deliveries and what’s interesting is that one model is credited with having had this effect.

It’s obviously the newly introduced F30 BMW 3 Series. Alongside the new kid on the block, the X range SAVs and the F10 BMW 5 Series proved worthy children of the company.

Oddly enough, the growth BMW obtained in China is a lot more ambiguous than that. The press release mentions a “double digit” growth rate for Q1 2012.

At least they’ve told us they managed to shift “more than” 75.000 units to the Asian superpower. It’s still nowhere near hard accurate fact but it’s better than the percentage situation.

More growth is expected in Q2 as the BMW X1 hit the US market and the F30 LWB hit the Chinese one.

The Bavarians have decided to show us just how happy they are about their sales by opening a brand new showroom.

That’s not the full story, the new showroom is located in the Arab Emirate and, just like most other constructions there, it is a record breaking affair.

Abu Dhabi Motors, a BMW partner for a very long time, is the owner of the new facility and they were only too happy to share a few details about it.

The new place stands in at a whopping 377.000 square feet or 8.6 acres of floor space. That should be plenty for multiple units of every single BMW Group product, especially the larger ones.

Which is great since the Arab shoppers are big fans of the 7 Series and the product portfolio of a certain brand called Rolls Royce.

Getting back to the showroom, the new record breaking facility cost 300 million dirhams, which is roughly the equivalent of $80 million.

Construction three years to complete, mostly due to difficult conditions on the weather front.

At this point, both on the cost front and on the space one, BMW claims the dealership is the largest one in the world.

Unsurprisingly, the service area is equally impressive and can apparently service as much as 120 vehicles simultaneously.

The new flagship BMW showroom has no less than 450 employees at its disposal.

As you’d imagine, the new showroom is expected to rake in even more sales and profits for BMW, especially now that it can handle more people coming in for a purchase.

It seems like the initial concerns over the finances of our favorite Bavarian company have been greatly exaggerated when rumors and reports came in about R&D costs of the F30 BMW 3 Series.

On the other hand, the news about the BMW X3 chipping into some great sales figures over the third quarter only paved the way for the financial results BMW achieved last month.

The tenth month of 2011 actually turned out as the best ever October in not only the company’s history in terms of sales, but of the entire BMW Group.

The BMW Group managed to sell a total of 139.276 vehicles worldwide last month, which signifies an increase of 8.3 percent over what they’ve managed last year.

Naturally, most of the weight comes from the BMW brand itself as its sales volumes went up by a tasty 12.4% with 107.789.

Some of the success also comes from the British subsidiary at Mini, they’ve managed to shift 23.839 units, a bump of 16.2 percent over last year.

This was mostly achieved thanks to the increased success of the Mini Countryman crossover. And then there’s the incredibly low figures of Rolls Royce.

The legendary luxury manufacturer managed to make 279 deliveries, which sounds almost pitiful but it makes up for an incredible 298.6% increase over 2010. In this case, it’s obviously that the increase fell on the shoulders of the Ghost.

Finally, a less than important percentage increase (1.7%) but a decent chunk of units sold for the BMW Group saw them deliver 6.845 motorcycles in October.

With the new posted figures for October, the remaining two months of the year seem to be going according to plan for BMW and the BMW Group, which means that it seems like there’s close to no chance that Audi or Mercedes ends up catching up in terms of sales.
