Video: BMW M2 Coupe vs. Porsche Macan Turbo
Auto Express likes to play on the track, putting side-by-side even or uneven models, like this pair of unfairly sized cars, like the BMW M2 Coupe and the bulk Porsche Macan Turbo.
If we are looking at both models, it`s like Goliath meeting Davis, in what seems to be an unfair battle. But don’t be fooled by one`s size versus the other`s sheer performance. And before judging our two contestants, let`s take a quick look at each one.
The BMW M2 Coupe comes with a 3.0-liter straight-six cylinder engine, developing 365 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque, hooked to a six-speed manual transmission, which makes it extremely fast from 0 to 100 km/h, the sprint being done in 4.3 seconds.
On the other hand, the Porsche Macan Turbo is equipped with a higher 3.6-liter V6 engine, outputting 394 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque, the power being sent to the wheels via a seven-speed double-clutch transmission. The same straight line is done in a good 4.4 seconds.
From the performance figures, the Porsche Macan Turbo seems to outrun the BMW M2 Coupe, but the latter one might favor the odds, thanks to its lightweight architecture and smaller size.
