The New BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M – Technical Specifications

Here we are back with some fresh info about the sensational 2015 BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M, revealing some of their technical details, in terms of power, transmission, stability, steering, braking system and so on.

We already know that the two premium SUVs are equipped with the company`s most powerful unit, the 4.4-liter V8, which utilizes the M TwinPower Turbo technology tagged along some TwinScroll turbochargers.

The BMW carmaker has also fitted the cross-bank manifolds, the VALVETRONIC and High Precision Direct Petrol Injection, which come with a power boost, of 70 Nm of torque, between 2,200 and 5,000 rpm.

Both 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M`s engines are hooked to the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, which helps the cars react more quickly to load changes, while the torque converter auto enables the “creep on demand”, via the Low Speed Assistant.

In terms of stability, the new BMW X5 M and the X6 M are equipped with the latest Dynamic Stability Control, which operates in three modes: the DSC on, the MDM (M Dynamic Mode), or the DSC off, each one coming with its own unique particularities.

Another particularity which sets the tone is the steering system, as it ensures the perfect balance between stability and precise handling in different driving conditions.

The steering comes hand in hand with the braking system which equips the 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M with wide six-piston fixed calipers in the front, while the back comes with a single-piston floating calipers. This would be translated into low weight, precise stopping power and resistance to heat.
