BMW is busy planning, testing out and launching new models on markets worldwide, the German carmaker focusing on a new design language and more advanced technologies, all set to revolutionize the entire auto industry.

And SUVs like the newly-arrived BMW X7 are standing novation on that matter. However, there are other models that still far away from getting a complete makeover, like the present X5 and X6. Even so, both models will remain appealing and attractive as BMW has decided to wrap them up with some special editions.

We are dealing thus with the 2018 BMW X5 Special Edition and X6 M Sport, both coming with improved visual characteristics and tweaked interiors.

Starting with the 2018 BMW X5 Special Edition, the new model is standing out from the crowd with the M Sport package. At the exterior, the new X5 Special Edition is now available with much bigger alloy wheels and updated exhaust system.

Most of the M goodies are found inside, comprising Dakota leather trim, seat leather with Alcantara/leather upholstery combo in Anthracite/Black with M logos, protection glass, Multifunctional Instrument Display, as well as BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino.

As for the 2018 BMW X6 M Sport, the model is now available in Long Beach Blue metallic exterior wrap. However, for extra cash, the model can also be had with Carbon Black or Mineral White Metallic finishes.

Other features at the exterior also refer to M Sport Package with 20-inch M lightweight alloy wheels, available in double-spoke design with mixed-size runflat tires. The interior is highlighted by the same treatment as the X5 Special Edition – M logos on the seats, Alcantara or leather upholstery, custom floor mats, leather upholstery Merino in five colours and much more.

As for price tags, the German based carmaker has not released any details on that matter for the moment. We surely hope for good news soon, as there are plenty of BMW customers looking forward to buying these special editions. Stay tuned!

We don’t get to see a specially-prepared BMW X6M with lots of aftermarket parts from different tuners every day, so this one see here will definitely make it into the headlines of every auto magazine.

It was recently displayed at BMW`s most exquisite dealership in Abu Dhabi, and comes packed with a wide range of styling bits from tuning companies like AC Schnitzer, Akrapovic or 3D Design, each one adding its own personality in making the SUV one of the most outstanding there can be in Abu Dhabi.

From the start, the BMW X6 M stands out from the crowd with M Performance Parts, highlighted by carbon fiber mirrors, side stripes, black fender vents, black kidney grilles and black roof finish, adding as well new aero parts courtesy of 3D Design.

The new aero parts refer to custom front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and boot lid spoiler, while AC Schnitzer has added the standout 23-inch AC1 Forged racing alloy wheels, which increase the SUV`s aggressive look.

The distinctive and aggressive note is also enhanced by the rear end, now coming with the high-performance Akrapovic Evolution exhaust system, which increases the engine soundtrack.

Inside, the cabin is also refreshed with the new leather on the seats, console, lower dashboard, armrest or door panels, which perfectly contrasts the red stitching surrounding the interior.

Concerning the powertrain under the hood, there aren`t any new changes, the BMW X6 M still packing the stock yet powerful 4.4-liter V8 BMW TwinPower Turbo with 567 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque, allowing a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds.

BMW is preparing its next-generation of X5 M and X6 M to be the outstanding SUVs on the market, as the models will make their debut somewhere probably at the end of the year.

Since we have already seen the prototype of the upcoming X5 M in spied photos, this would be our first time to reveal, also caught in the act, the X6 M prototype.

The SUV in the pictures is definitely the new X6 M, because of the very aggressive front bumper, featuring larger intakes and wider air dam.

As for the X6 M`s power, we might state that the SUV is a monster under the hood. We are talking about a 4.4-liter V8 engine with a rough 555 horsepower.

If things go pretty well for the new X6 M, the German luxury automaker is likely to carry on with this powerful powerplant, even if the basic drivetrain is supposed to remain the same.

The car might also feature carbon fiber and other light material that would significantly reduce the weight, as the engineers from BMW were working on an engine stop-start system for the SUV.

With reduce weight, thus comes a greater fuel economy, also due to the vehicle`s dual-clutch transmission, which would replace the automatic from the present model.

It happened at the New York Auto Show but we may have gotten caught up in other news that we might have found somewhat more interesting.

The facelifted version of the BMW X6 M SAV got itself a new price tag announced during the event. The sticker now showcases a slightly higher number.

Apparently you’ll need to pay an extra $2600 for the privilege of owning a 2013 BMW X6 M rather than the 2012 version of the same car.

As we’ve explained here, the BMW X6 M gets a mild facelift this year.

Under the bonnet of the BMW X6 M facelift we find the same 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine churning out 555 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque.

The most important bits of the update are the introduction of LED headlights, rearranged kidney grilles and a new set of exterior colors for you to pick from.

Even though the changes are pretty small, the BMW X6 M is still well worth its $93.795 starting price. It’s a bad mix of lines by most accounts but there’s no denying the engineering in it is well worth the money.

It isn’t my cup of tea, but the BMW X6 M is a vehicle I respect. After all, it’s one of the first cars to showcase the BMW M5’s powerplant.

I also appreciate the BMW X6 M for loosing the practicality of the X5 and simply keeping the opportunity to have fun in a big car with four people.

That might sound a little weird but I mean the driving ok?

Bavaria’s finest aren’t exactly ready to give us the full details on exactly what makes the 2013 BMW X6M facelift more likeable than the previous generation but they do want us to focus on it.

Therefore, they’ve recently released to very glossy and sexy looking videos of the new version of the hot SAV “in action”, for our viewing pleasure.

Both of the clips are very short as they come in at 18 and 20 seconds. They do transmit the 2013 BMW X6M’s (now in a facelift state) unique blend of opulence and performance however.

You know immediately that you’re looking at a car you don’t need, but want. And judging by the sales figures, plenty of people want it.

With the M division’s magic underneath and that 2013 BMW X6’s presence on top, you get quite the special mix to talk about.

Speaking of what’s underneath, remember the 555 horsepower twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8 engine which had all of its 501 lb-ft of torque available between 1500 and 5650 rpm? It’s still there.

As is the 6 speed M Sport automatic transmission and the xDrive all wheel drive system. And all of the interior. And the high prices.

Actually, on that last front, nobody would expect the 2013 BMW X6M to be cheap, given what it comes with, but we don’t know the prices yet.

Some speculation has been made but the German manufacturer isn’t ready to produce the figures. They must be working on a few other tweaks and turns.

If that’s the case, we wouldn’t mind them finding a way of softening the suspension without compromising the 2013 BMW X6M’s great handling.

Since the Bavarians pushed out a refreshed version of the BMW X6 under the 2013 banner, it would be a natural move to send the same updates over to the raunchy X6 M version.

The M Division’s least enthusiast appreciated vehicle will now look the part and is presented here in a stunning candy red finish that just “works” with the tinted windows.

Most likely, the tinted windows have been photo-shopped in but the effect is still undeniable. Unfortunately, just like the standard car’s facelift, there are some complaints.

The styling changes are even more limited this time. The same headlight and taillight updates have been made and all the LED technology you want is there.

Sadly, because of the monster of an engine that lives under the bonnet of the 2013 BMW X6 M, the front bumper redesign didn’t happen. At least the slightly reshaped kidney grills have made it in.

Speaking of that engine, it is exactly the same as before. Honestly, that’s not a complaint, the 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 is still as awesome as ever and it develops 555 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque.

Inside the X6 M’s new interior there’s an obvious sense of “deja vu” and this comes as no surprise since the only changes you get are added color choices for the leather.

The exterior finish also receives a few more options in terms of visual clout but really, that’s about it. Let’s face it, as much bashing as we could do, it’s just a facelift, not a redesign.

I couldn’t say for sure what was under the Chrstimas Tree on the 25th at Autobild but I’m sure they had a lot of fun the days after since the got to write this up.

The famed German magazine took some of BMW’s finest vehicles and lined them up at Sachsenring for a few hot laps and some fun.

We don’t know much about the fun part, but the lap times have produced some pretty interesting results, both for BMW lovers and number loving geeks.

Bear in mind that Autobild didn’t mess about and try the diesel BMW 1 Series or anything of the likes. They’ve stuck to quite the recipe, not using anything other than M division creations.

The list of vehicles they had up for runs is quite the impressive one and includes the following vehicles:

When they chose their company name, the German tuner G-Power got it spot on .They proved this before and with a 725 horsepower X6 M under their belt you know they aren’t messing around.

That same tuned up version of the BMW X6 M will now be undergoing surgery once again as it gets a new appearance. Not exactly helpful in terms of looks, but a wide body kit is pretty major.

A G-Power X6 M Typhoon wide body kit offers up considerably more than a new more aggressive look, as it is of quite the benefit to performance.

G-Power’s new wide body kit sets up the BMW X6 M for better use of its new suspension kit that was lowered by 30 mm and somehow can still accommodate 23 inch alloy wheels.

The BMW X6 M by G-Power uses the same Silverstone RS alloy wheels as before and they are wrapped in Michelin performance tires.

Nothing on what aerodynamic coefficient is but it’s not likely to be great. The X6 M was already a rather poor aerodynamic product and the new spoilers, a diffuser with Venturi tunnels and the dynamic venting through the hood will have almost certainly made it worse.

That and the added front openings of the G-Power BMW X6 M Typhoon body kit will shake down the Cx figure even further but who cares.

Thanks to the improved cooling, you’ll be able to access the performance for a longer time without issues.

After all, a 725 horsepower 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 656 lb-ft of torque is going to be used with a pedal to the floor as you go past 186 mph.

The BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M may not be the best looking cars out there, or the most fuel efficient, or the most practical but they certainly have a way of selling like hot cakes.

We know BMW’s sales aren’t exactly shabby at the moment but it seems that in markets like Asia they’re so good people actually need help standing out in their very expensive SAVs.

Attempting to counter this situation, the BMW X5 M and X6M are about to get new packs from what other range if not the Individual.

Destined to be different, there are quite a few differences between the Individual X5 M, X6 M and the regular versions of the same cars.

To begin with, the exterior is going to be available in a few new paint finishes such as Azurite Black metallic, Ruby Black metallic, Citrine Black metallic or Pearl Silver metallic.

Inside, things are, once again, different as they’re now covered in premium Merino leather and can be teamed with rare woods such as piano black, eucalyptus and walnut.

Keeping the interior special there’s an upgrade on the infotainment system to feature Internet connectivity and rear seat entertainment facilities.

A final upgrade for the BMW X5 M and X6 M Individual package comes in between the world of the interior and exterior as they both come glass roofs, be them panoramic or electric.

At 555 hp and 680 Nm of torque and being capable of reaching 170 mph (275 km/h), one would be more than satisfied by the power that the BMW X6 M can supply. But there will always be people that would want more and to cater to their wishes, tuning companies will continue to bring more and more upgrades. This is the case of the M6XR from Manhart Racing.

After the tuning from Manhart, the V8 engine is on steroids. Thus, the BMW X6 M has become an even greater beast, now sporting a massive 687 hp which makes the car go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds flat. And it can reach the jawbreaking top speed of 198 mph (317 km/h). And we’re talking about an SUV here!

Still, Manhart is planning an even more powerful version that will top 700 hp and 900 Nm of torque, so things will soon get even better.

The Manhart BMW X6 M also features a stainless steel exhaust, a sports chasis, powerful braking system, a lower road stance by 30 mm for increased handling and an optional leather interior with Alcantara roof among other neat things.
